Arrive Haridwar — Ganga Aarti
Arrive at Haridwar, the gateway to the Char Dham. Check into hotel, freshen up and attend the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in the evening. Meet your guide and fellow travellers.

Haridwar → Barkot (240 km)
Early morning departure for Barkot via Mussoorie and Uttarkashi. Enjoy scenic mountain views and the Yamuna Valley. Overnight stay at Barkot.

- Stop at Mussoorie viewpoint for photographs
- Lunch at Uttarkashi dhaba
- Arrive Barkot by afternoon/evening

Yamunotri Darshan
Trek 6 km to Yamunotri temple (or hire palkis/ponies). Receive blessings from Goddess Yamuna — the source of the sacred river. The hot water kund Surya Kund is right beside the temple.
- 6:00 AM: Depart for Janki Chatti (14 km from Barkot)
- Begin 6 km trek to Yamunotri from Janki Chatti
- Palkis and ponies available on request
- Darshan at Yamunotri temple
- Cook rice/potatoes in Surya Kund (100°C spring)
- Trek back down and drive to Uttarkashi for overnight
Gangotri Darshan
Drive to Gangotri (100 km from Uttarkashi). Seek blessings of Goddess Ganga at this revered temple. Visit Bhagirathi Shila — the rock where King Bhagirath meditated to bring the Ganga to Earth.

- Darshan at Gangotri Temple
- Visit Bhagirathi Shila and Gauri Kund
- Take a holy dip in the ice-cold Bhagirathi River

- Return to Uttarkashi for overnight stay
Uttarkashi → Guptkashi (220 km)
Long scenic drive via Tehri and Devprayag — where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet to form the holy Ganga. Stop for photos at the sangam before reaching Guptkashi.
Kedarnath Darshan ✦ The Crown
Drive to Sonprayag, then trek 18 km (or take helicopter) to Kedarnath — the most revered Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva at 3,583m. Morning darshan in the ancient stone temple is a transcendent experience.
- 3:00 AM: Early start from Guptkashi
- Drive to Sonprayag (30 km), then Gaurikund (5 km shared taxi)
- Begin 18 km trek to Kedarnath or take helicopter (advance booking required)
- Early morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple (opens 4 AM)
- Overnight at Kedarnath (basic lodges/tents)
- Evening Aarti at the temple
Kedarnath → Badrinath (170 km)
Early morning final darshan at Kedarnath, then trek/heli back to Gaurikund. Drive via Rudraprayag and Karanprayag to Badrinath — the abode of Lord Vishnu.
Badrinath Darshan ✦ The Final Abode
Darshan at the magnificent Badrinarayan Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu at 3,133m. Visit Tapt Kund (hot spring), Brahma Kapal, and Mana Village — the last Indian village before Tibet.
- 4:30 AM: Abhishekam / early morning darshan (VIP puja optional)
- Take a dip in the holy Tapt Kund (hot spring)
- Visit Brahma Kapal — sacred ghat for pind daan rituals
- Explore Mana Village — the last inhabited village of India
- See Vyas Gufa and Saraswati River
- Evening Aarti at Badrinath Temple
Badrinath → Rudraprayag
After morning darshan, begin the homeward journey. Drive to Rudraprayag — the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Overnight halt on the banks of the sacred river.
Rudraprayag → Rishikesh → Haridwar
Drive back to Rishikesh — the yoga capital of the world. Visit the iconic Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula. Evening Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat. Overnight at Rishikesh or Haridwar.
Haridwar Departure — Yatra Complete
Check out and transfer to Haridwar Railway Station or airport for your onward journey. The Char Dham Yatra is now complete — you carry home divine blessings from all four sacred abodes.

The Char Dham temples are open from May to June (summer) and September to October (post-monsoon). The shrines close in November for winter. May–June and September–October are ideal — weather is pleasant, crowds are moderate, and all routes are accessible.
Yes! Yamunotri has a 6 km trek (ponies/palanquins available). Kedarnath has an 18 km trek (helicopter option available). Gangotri and Badrinath are driveable. With proper planning, senior travellers complete the yatra comfortably. We have assisted many travellers aged 70+.
Helicopter services operate from Phata, Sersi, or Guptkashi helipads to Kedarnath. It's approximately ₹5,000–₹8,000 per person each way depending on the season and operator. We can arrange this in advance — please inform us at the time of booking.
Warm woolens (temperatures drop to 5°C at Kedarnath even in June), comfortable trekking shoes, rain jacket, personal medications, sunscreen, and light clothes for Haridwar/Rishikesh. We provide a detailed packing list after booking.
Our guide carries a complete first aid kit and oxygen cylinders. Government medical posts are available at all major dham locations. We also provide emergency evacuation support and recommend travel insurance for all pilgrims.
