The morning prayer at Namgyal Monastery moved me to tears — I wasn't expecting to feel so much. The Triund camp was absolutely magical, stars like I've never seen. And Bir Billing paragliding? Pure bliss. MilesNPeople thought of every detail. Coming back next year for Ladakh!
I was looking for a trip that had both peace and adventure, and this was perfect. Our guide Lobsang knew every corner of Dharamshala — from hidden cafés to the best spots at sunset. Excellent value for money. The paragliding was the icing on the cake!
Yes! The Triund trek is graded easy-moderate and is perfect for first-time trekkers. The trail is well-marked, 9km, and takes 4–5 hours at a comfortable pace. Our guide walks at the group's speed. As long as you are in reasonable health and can walk for 4–5 hours, you will manage beautifully.
Dharamshala is accessible year-round, but the best windows are March–June (spring — pleasant weather, blooming rhododendrons) and September–November (autumn — crystal-clear skies, best mountain views). July–August is the monsoon season — lush and green but the Triund trek can be slippery. Winter (Dec–Feb) is cold but magical with snowfall.
Bir Billing is one of the safest and most established paragliding sites in the world — it hosted the 2015 Paragliding World Cup. All flights are tandem with certified instructors. Age limit: 10–65 years. Weight limit: 40–100kg. Those with heart conditions or pregnancy should not fly. We use only licensed operators.
The Dalai Lama's personal residence (Thekchen Chöling) is not open to general visitors. However, Namgyal Monastery — the Dalai Lama's personal monastery and adjacent to his residence — is open to visitors. On special occasions when His Holiness gives public teachings, we can help arrange passes. These are announced on the official website.
Absolutely. We offer a 3-day quick version (₹5,500) covering McLeod Ganj and Triund without Bir. We can also extend to 7 days to include Dharamkot, Kangra Fort, and a full day at Norbulingka Institute. Private custom groups are available for any group size. WhatsApp us to discuss.
