The desert camp night at Sam Dunes was the most magical experience of my life. Sleeping under a blanket of stars with folk musicians playing — no words. The heritage havelis in Jaipur and Udaipur were exquisite. MilesNPeople truly understands what "royal" means.
Our guide Suresh was phenomenal — his knowledge of Rajput history brought every fort alive. The small group size (we were 12) meant we got personal attention everywhere. Mehrangarh Fort in golden hour light was a photograph I'll frame forever. Absolutely worth every rupee.
October to March is ideal — pleasant daytime temperatures (18–28°C) and cool nights. December–January can be cold at night (8–12°C), especially in Jaisalmer at camp. April–June is very hot (40°C+). We run the tour year-round but strongly recommend the winter season for the desert camp experience.
Our luxury camp features spacious tents with proper beds, attached bathrooms, and electricity. It's glamping, not roughing it. The magic is outside — a bonfire, folk musicians, and the vast starlit Thar sky. Most travellers rate this as the single best night of the tour. Upgrade to a Swiss tent is available on request.
The elephant ride is optional and not included in the base price (approximately ₹1,200/couple). Due to animal welfare concerns and seasonal restrictions, availability varies. We also offer jeep rides up or a scenic walk. Our guide will brief you on the day based on conditions and your preference.
Absolutely — solo travellers are very welcome. The ₹28,500 price is based on twin sharing. A single supplement of ₹6,000 applies for solo travellers who want a private room. Alternatively, we can try to match you with another solo traveller to share accommodation at no extra cost.
Comfortable, breathable cotton clothing for days; a light jacket or shawl for evenings (it gets cool, especially at desert camp). Good walking shoes for fort visits. Sunscreen and sunglasses are essential. Modest clothing recommended for temple visits. We'll send a full packing list on booking.
